Fitness First.

Morgan Arritola - hard work, great improvements, more hard work...

Fitness First. 1 x 1.6km at 10mmol (not quite all out) followed by 2 sets of 3 x 90 seconds at 6mmol (just over threshold). Tuesday.

2sets of 3 x 5minutes at 10mmol. Wednesday. Day in. Day out. Today is our day to do it.

Colin Rodgers - Sun Valley Ski Ed Foundation and Fischer Swix rolling it out in NY.
Kevin Hochtl below...

Sweat

and blood.

Upper NY State. Lars Flora all alone.

Liz Stephen - 6mmol work.

Laura Valaas leading a train of skiers... skiers from the CXC team (including Laura), SVSEF and NENSA and NYSEF all here training together. The start of some great program, athlete, and coach partnerships.

Stephens - more threshold work.

Matt Whitcomb in the pouring rain getting up to Liz (who went just a touch further than our testing station) to take a lactate... Whitcomb is ALL IN.

Athlete partnership. Working together... Newell, Rodgers, Cook, Hochtl, Koos. Last of the 90 second intervals... this one was a little hot, a little faster than prescribed, the others were spot on.

Pat Casey. Continuity of staff is dependent on satisfaction and joy at work.

Igor Badamshin - one time fast man for Russia - now coaching juniors here in the USA. Begining of more program-to-program partnerships. The US is made up of people from around the world. US Skiing is made up of programs, skiers coaches from around the country. We do it together if we want to get it done.

The CXC (Central Cross Country) Crew. This team is doing good work...

Morgan Arritola. Threshold session.
Fitness - because without it nothing else matters.
Continuity - because this must happen everyday for many years.
Partnership - because we are all in charge of our success as a ski nation.
