Doublepoling out of the start.  Freeman, Koos, Newell... (high hands = high hips = efficient position and effective position from which to apply power to the poles).

Tigers use the expression "eye of the Newell"...

Inspite of the fact that every race was to be raced all out - from the prelim to the final - the sprinters were able to keep improving their times.  And the final was actually raced faster than the prelim.  This was not even close to the case 3 years ago.
