Workout of the Day!
Workout Update for 7/29/04 \r\n \r\nLeif Zimmerman \r\n \r\nHello from Park City!! \r\n \r\nWe’ve had two great weeks of training here in Utah! The weather has been cool (for Park City), and everyone is looking very strong in overall strength and fitness, along with big improvements in the technical department!! \r\n \r\nThis morning’s workout was a 2 hour skate roller ski at Soldier Hollow, with the focus on SPEED!! The Vans dropped everyone off a little ways out and we skied into the roller ski loop for a warm-up (about 30 minutes). \r\n \r\n

\r\n \r\nWe started with 5 x 20 seconds, V2/V1 with the transition about half way through, as somewhat of an appetizer. Then we did 5 x 10-12 seconds of V1, V2 and V2 alternate with 2-3 minutes recovery between each one. All of these were done at max output, with an emphasis on proper technique. \r\n \r\nIt took a little more than an hour to get in all 20 speeds with adequate rest between each one, but it is very important to be fully recovered for each and every one, even if it makes for a long workout. Then 15-20 minute cool-down. \r\n \r\nWe had a big group of skiers, with all the Ski Team members and a few locals, along with a handful of last year’s World Junior Team athletes that are training with us this week! It makes for a very positive and constructive training atmosphere with such a large group of elite skiers!! \r\n \r\nBye for now!! \r\n \r\nLeif Zimmermann \r\n \r\n
