Team Today to Host September Clinic
Gear West Ski & Run Presents a US Ski Team technique clinic fundraiser for Team Today. Saturday & Sunday, September 11-12 2004 at French Regional Park, Plymouth Minnesota. \r\n \r\nAll proceeds from this event directly support Team Today and the athletes of the US Cross-country ski team and their goal of becoming the best in the world. Team Today is a nonprofit organization started and run by the athletes of the US Cross-country Ski Team. Team Today was created to help raise the level of ski racing in the US to international podium heights, to share information and passion for the sport with the American ski community and to raise money for training and racing opportunities for American skiers. At the Team Today/Gear West Clinic we will share modern, world-class methods of training and technique with the skiers and coaches of the Twin Cities and Midwest. \r\n \r\nThis is a fund raiser, a clinic with the best, a chance to hear and be heard by the people who are taking US skiing to the next level and a damn hard-working good time. \r\n \r\nReceive the latest technique instruction on rollerskis in skating and classic techniques. Learn dryland drills to prepare you step by step for your best race season ever. Get the strength training that the US team is using right now to develop explosive speed and maintain perfect technique for long distances. \r\n \r\nUS Ski Team Asst Coach Pete Vordenberg and US Ski Team Athlete Andrew Johnson will lead groups of 10-12 participants. Space is limited so sign up today! Spend 3 hours with Pete watching video, learning the latest innovations and working on the basics of good technique. Andrew will add an hour of strength and bounding to show you how he’s become one of the strongest skiers in the US. Attend an evening presentation with both talking about the state of XC skiing in the US. The presentation is free for all clinic participants. Anyone is encouraged to attend for $5, which includes a raffle ticket for great prizes. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $5. \r\n \r\nTentative Saturday schedule: \r\n \r\nGroup A: 8am-11:15am \r\nGroup B: 11:45am-3pm \r\nGroup C: 3:15pm-6:30pm \r\n \r\nGroups A, C: Strength Clinic: 11:30am-12:30pm \r\nGroup B, Coaches: Strength Clinic: 3:30pm-4:30pm \r\n \r\nRaffle, Talk and Presentation: 7pm-8:30pm \r\n \r\nTentative Sunday schedule: \r\n \r\nH.S.
