Self Photojournalism
Self Photo-Journalism \r\n \r\nBy Andrew Johnson \r\n \r\n \r\nThe other day I decided that I wanted to document one of my workouts through photography. This presented a bit of a challenge since I am doing the vast majority of my training alone these days. Nobody to take photos of me. \r\n \r\nI started thinking abut this delimma. We all know there are tons of great photographers out there. But how many of them take action shots - of themselves? \r\n \r\nI may be ushering in a whole new genre of art, here. Don't be prepared to be wowwed by the photography, but all the photos in this series were taken by me, of me. All it took was a camera with a decent timer, a little too much free time, and some good old-fashioned ingenuity. \r\n \r\nThis will be a three or four part series, so look for more pics soon! \r\n \r\n
\n Here I am driving to the workout. I'm headed over to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, in Craftsbury, VT. COC has over 150 kilometers of skiing in the winter, and lots of trails for running and biking in the summer. They also have a small weight room that I use when I'm in this neck of the woods. The legal counsel for Team Today recommends against taking pictures of yourself while driving...

\n Getting ready to go! My plan for today is to warm up with a 20-30 minute run, and then do a little bounding. This will be my first bounding session of the year so it will be very light, and I'll do no other spenst exercises. Next week I'll hit it a little harder, and the following week I'll be doing my full workout. After the spenst I'll head into the weight room for some core strength. The core workout will involve about eight or nine different exercises, times three sets for all, and will take about an hour-fifteen to an hour-and-a-half.
\r\n \r\n
\n The warm-up. Toughes shot to get, but it worked well after a couple takes! If you want to do something like this yourself (who doesn't, really) be prepared to spend a few extra minutes for your workout...
