USST Training

Here's a fun week of training from Wendy Wagner's training log. \r\n\r\nWendy’s Training (May 17th to May 23rd)\r\n\r\n Fraser, Colorado\r\n\r\nMonday AM: Recover from my boyfriend’s surprise party the night before.\r\n PM: Mountain bike for 2:25 to get the lead out. 2 hours logged.\r\n\r\nTuesday AM: Climbing at Fraser’s secret climbing area for a couple hours. 30 minutes logged.\r\n PM: Mountain bike ride, 2 hours with about 50 minutes of hard riding in level 3 and 4. Unstructured intensity but I felt good and wanted to go hard so went with it.\r\n\r\nWednesday AM: Easy 30 minute jog then a 30 min core strength routine.\r\n PM: Easy mountain bike level 1 for 1 hour 45 minutes, logged 1:30. (as a general rule when biking I tend to log the time spent in level 1 and above rounded up some)\r\n\r\nThursday AM: Adventure bike/hike/Tele ski. I planned on tele skiing Byers Peak but the road to the trail head was closed for mud season. Luckily I had my bike in the truck so I biked with my skis on my pack till I had to hike then finally got to ski. It was a good over distance outing lasting almost 4 hours. 3 hours logged\r\n PM: Wild flower identification hike to enjoy the nice evening\r\n\r\nFriday Road Biked out and back on Train Ridge Road (the highest paved road in the US topping out over 12,000 ft going through Rocky Mountain National Park). It was about 40+ miles and taking a little over 3 hours. Mostly Level one and two, it gets steep and windy at the top! 2:45 logged\r\n\r\nSaturday Went climbing in Golden on North Table Mountain, a relatively easy and restful day. 30 minutes logged.\r\n\r\nSunday AM: Track intervals at 8,000 ft – aggggg. 2x200, 2x400, 2x800, 2x400, 2x200 with a 30 minute warm up including 4 accelerations and some stretching and a warm down with easy 20 minutes of jogging. 1:30 logged.\r\n PM: Spin on my bike for about 15 minutes then a 45 minute physio ball, free weight, pull up type core strength work out. \r\n\r\nTotal training time for the week was 15:45 hours.\r\nNext week will be easy 'til I start my hard 7-8 day intensity block on Thursday the 27th.\r\n\r\n
