\r\nMonday:
\r\n
\r\nIn the evening I went out and did a ski walking session.
\r\n1:00 with 5 X :15 sec. race pace speeds
\r\n
\r\nTuesday:
\r\n
\r\nRan to the gym as a prelude for a core/max strength workout.
\r\n1:15 strength
\r\nI worked on increasing the weights for this new week. I also did max
\r\nlifting for the first time on a few selected exercises.
\r\nI focused mainly on lifting with correct motions to train myself
\r\ncorrectly for when the weight increases even more.
\r\n
\r\nWednesday:
\r\n
\r\nIn the morning I pre-rode the course for my upcoming mtn. bike race.
\r\nThis
\r\nworkout was done at a relatively easy pace (if that's possible while
\r\ngoing
\r\nuphill on a bike). I made sure that I didn't let myself get depleted,
\r\nas
\r\nwe were out there for a total of 3:00 riding.
\r\n
\r\nThursday:
\r\n
\r\nIn the evening, after not feeling well most of the day, I jogged my son
\r\nin
\r\na jogger and hike uphill, pushing him for 1:00 at level one.
\r\nUnfortunately, on this day I should have done a more ski specific
\r\nactivity, but due to how I felt, I had to wait until the very end of
\r\nthe
\r\nday to squeeze something in .
\r\n
\r\nFriday:
\r\n
\r\n1:00 of Core strength in the morning, mostly done with my own body
\r\nweight,
\r\nmed balls, and therapy balls. This is one of my easier workouts as far
\r\nas
\r\nstrength goes. It is done in the yard with simple devices and
\r\nexercises.
\r\nI chose this because of the long bike race on the following day. I
\r\nalso
\r\ndidn't meet my 3 strength sessions per week this week, but I had to be
\r\nflexible because of the way I felt.
\r\n
\r\nSaturday:
\r\n
\r\n2:45 with warm up and cool down. Actual race time was under 2:00. Rage
\r\nin
\r\nthe Sage mountain bike race. 22.5 miles of single track. Got second
\r\nplace to my studly mother who is 42. We both race pro and normally I
\r\nbeat
\r\nher by a little over ten minutes, but this was a learning race for me
\r\nas I
\r\nhad to deal with TWO flat tires!!! This workout was intensity and
\r\ncould
\r\nbe called a lot of natural intervals.
\r\n
\r\nSunday:
\r\n
\r\nToday was a fun 56 mile road ride appropiately called the Road Rage. A
\r\nlarge group completed the ride in 3:45 minutes. I rode fairly easy and
\r\nfelt awesome. Taking it easy was very important after yesterday. I
\r\nwas
\r\nmostly in levels 1 and 2.
\r\n
\r\nThis week suffered from a lack of specificity, but was good overall.
\r\nIt
\r\ntotaled 13:45 with the majority being biking hours.
