Team Today Update

Team Today is slowly picking up steam and heading in the right direction. We are raising some money, but need to continue to raise money simply to help cover start-up costs and give us the financial means to put our plans into action.
\r\n
\r\nHowever, a more immediate crisis is at hand! For the past couple years the US Ski Team has travelled down under to the Snow Farm, outside of Queenstown, New Zealand to spend some time in August on snow. This camp has quickly become one of the most useful tools available to USST athletes. The midwinter conditions, relatively low elevation, and 30-plus kilometeers of perfectly groomed trails make the August camp a much better choice than the glacier skiing that's had elsewhere.
\r\n
\r\nUnfortunately, this year the USST is experiencing another budget cut, which is going to make it difficult for the Development to afford the camp. Currently, the D-Team (Kikkan Randall, Leif Zimmermann, Lindsey Weier, Chris Cook, and coach Chris Grover) are having to foot a large portion of the bill individually. This is a substantial financial committment from ahtletes who are unable to work for large porions of the year, and one that most of these athletes cannot comfortably afford.
\r\n
\r\nThis is a specific cause that you can donate to. Just earmark your Team Today contribution for "Development Team", and you can be a integral member of the support structure for these athletes.
\r\n
\r\nOther Updates:
\r\n
\r\nAround mid-June Team Today will be having a collossal on-line auction of US SKi Team gear. All items will be gently used, USST issue clothes from past national and development teams, Olympics, and World Championships. Don't miss out on a great way to support America's best skiers, while at the same time getting some ultra-cool gear with a tax-deductible payment. Keep your eyes peeled for more info regarding this sale.
\r\n
\r\nLook for information regarding a possible Team Today clinic to be offered in the Twin Cities in September. Pete Vordenberg, as well as an athlete or two from the USST, will be in town to spread the word on the latest technique, training, and coaching tips from the world of international ski racing.
