Exclusive! New Proposals to be Discussed at USSA Meetings
Team Today has been notified of several of the topics to be dicussed at this weekend's USSA Meetings in Park City, UT. Below are a few items of discussion, leaked to Team Today by an official close to the USSA who has chosen to remain anonymous.

\r\nRollerskiing National Championship?
\r\n
\r\nAt their meeting this weekend, the USSA Cross Country Committee is expected to hear a proposal to host the first-ever U.S. Rollerskiing National Championship, already this
\r\nsummer. A leading candidate to host the event, if it's approved by the USSA
\r\nBoard, could be the Boise Twilight Criterium in late July, which hosted
\r\na rollerski race in conjunction with the large cycling ciriterium last
\r\nyear. The race, which was won by the USST's Torin Koos, drew about 2,000
\r\nspectators in a rainstorm last summer. Up to 10,000 are expected this year.

\r\nPossible schedule changes for Nationals
\r\n
\r\nPursuit (duathlon) might replace the marathon at the U.S. Senior National Championships.
\r\n At their meeting this weekend, the USSA Cross Country Committee is
\r\nlikely to vote to replace the women's 30km and men's 50km at the January
\r\nU.S. Cross Country Championship with a Duathlon (7.5km+7.5km for women,
\r\n15km+15km for men). They're also expected to investigate adding a U.S.
\r\nmarathon national championship in March, possibly in conjunction with
\r\none of the major marathons, such as the Gold Rush, Rendezvous, or Tour
\r\nof Anchorage. Two of the larger citizen marathons, the Boulder Mountain
\r\nTour and the City of Lakes Marathon are already jockeying for a
\r\nposition in the prestigious SuperTour on the first weekend of February, which
\r\nwould be the first time a major citizen marathon would be included in
\r\nthe series.
